This project is about a few things ~
At one point it is about discovering what marks humans make by hand in 2010 in the city. In the process of the project I have truly realised how few handmade marks there are. When data capturing during everyday life I discovered that in the supermarket there is almost nothing written by hand in the whole building. The project is still very new in my mind and undeveloped in it's scope so I have no critique to make of this relative lack of handwriting compared to the city a century ago [or even 25 years ago].
Another part of the project is exploring an urge to digitize and archive. Today to archive almost intrinsically means to create a digital catalogue of information. And it is the digital catalogues found on the internet that are so massively changing the way our society runs. Thus I chose to archive content outside of any real system of function. Archiving handwritten notes in pure text also serves to a lot of what is relevant or important about the notes.
I'm sure it is about other things too, that I both don't know and cannot articulate.
